I’m Vraj Bhavsar, a Computer Engineering student at the University of Waterloo with internship experience across software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, and cybersecurity.

I’ve worked on high-throughput backend systems, ETL pipelines, ML-powered applications, and cloud infrastructure at teams including BitGo, Cadillac Fairview, Health and Rehab Research, and eSentire.

I enjoy building reliable products with Java, Go, JavaScript, C/C++, Swift, Python, TypeScript, and SQL, and I’m currently seeking Fall 2026 internships or new grad opportunities.

Data Engineer Intern

Architected and optimized ETL pipelines using Airflow DAGs and Snowflake, processing 10M+ records daily and enabling real-time analytics for executive decision-making.
Built scalable backend infrastructure for Streamlit applications, reducing executive reporting time by 34% through optimized data processing and caching strategies.
Designed a robust Jira API integration framework with automated error handling and retry logic, eliminating manual reporting workflows and saving 15+ hours per week.

Integrated an ML inference pipeline into an iOS app using Swift and Core ML, enabling real-time posture correction feedback with less than 200ms latency.
Increased model accuracy by 9% for chronic pain prediction and posture correction by engineering 25+ body keypoint features and integrating them into a supervised learning pipeline.
Optimized inference workflows with caching and load balancing, and integrated CircleCI pipelines to automate testing and deployment for stronger reliability under user traffic.

Software Engineer Intern

Built and deployed malware detection repositories on Linux, integrating APIs for Thor, CalmAV, and Yara, and designed React + TypeScript interfaces for file uploads and notifications.
Automated monitoring and incident reporting workflows with AWS using Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure provisioning, producing production-ready scripts that improved reliability.
Architected a production-grade LLM Gateway in Go and AWS with intelligent request routing and caching, processing 10K+ daily requests and cutting infrastructure costs by $20K annually.

Designed and implemented ML-driven models for web applications, integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs to streamline data exchange and improve feature responsiveness.
Developed and scaled a supplier e-commerce marketplace platform with ReactJS, NextJS, VueJS, Stripe API, and SQL, serving 20+ suppliers and boosting product availability by 30%.
Applied UX best practices in collaboration with designers using Figma, delivering an interface that improved feature discoverability and increased adoption by 20%.
